Sara-Anne Churchill, Harpsichord

Sara-Anne Churchill is in demand as an orchestral player, chamber musician and solo harpsichordist. She has recently appeared with Toronto Masque Theatre, Orchestra London, Scaramella, Music Niagara and Sinfonia Toronto. Sara is also a founding member of the Elixir Baroque Ensemble. Sara-Anne was first introduced to music by her mother, in the form of piano lessons, and later went on to study with John Hansen, Walter Delahunt, Robin Wood and Ronald Turini. While completing a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Western Ontario she developed an intense interest in early music and historical keyboards and studied harpsichord with Sandra Mangsen. Sara completed a Masters of Arts in Musicology at UWO in 2006. In pursuing her interest in early music, Sara also received instruction from Charlotte Nediger and Olivier Fortin, completing the Advanced Certificate in Performance at the University of Toronto, in conjunction with Tafelmusik. She recently graduated with a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Harpsichord Performance from the University of Toronto, and currently teaches Historical Keyboards at the University of Western Ontario, and piano at Kingsway Conservatory of Music.
